Black Friday, the weekend of discounts and deals which, in the western world, has coined the ‘shop-till-you-drop’ attitude. However, what many consumers tend to forget throughout this period of impulse buying, is the overpoweringly negative effect it has on our planet.
The increased encouragement of overconsumption across these few days and the waste often created from this indulging takes a toll on the environment in many ways. All these products often contain, consist of or are almost always packaged in non-recyclable plastic which inevitably ends up in landfills or oceans, polluting our soil, air and water.
Given that up to 80% of our Black Friday purchases are thrown away after just one or even zero uses, a change needs to happen! And that is exactly what Luxe To Kill are here to do.Our initiative has always been and continues to be the battle against the unsustainable model of fast fashion. We encourage customers to consume in moderation and more sustainably wherever possible.
To this end we will not be participating in deals which promote this frenzy-like behaviour and then inevitably to this long list of environmental issues. Instead, we are launching ‘Green Friday’, on this day 100% of all profits will be donated to causes which work towards helping our planet.
